MUNoV Attire
Women attending the Model United Nations are expected to wear formal women's attire. This can include business suits, blouses with skirts or dress pants, or appropriate professional dresses. The emphasis is on maintaining a neat and professional appearance that reflects the serious and diplomatic atmosphere of the event. Accessories should be understated to complement the formal attire without drawing unnecessary attention.
For men participating in the Model United Nations, the attire consists of any suit paired with a white shirt and a tie. Footwear should be formal, opting for loafers, and accessories should be kept minimal to maintain a professional and polished appearance. This dress code emphasizes a clean and classic look, devoid of excessive embellishments, aligning with the formal nature of the MUN environment.
Participants who wish to express cultural identity through traditional clothing are encouraged to do so diplomatically and respectfully. Traditional garments such as a thobe from the Middle East, an agbada from West Africa, or a kimono from Japan can be worn, provided they are styled modestly and professionally. The key is to ensure the attire aligns with the formal tone of the event while showcasing cultural heritage. When done appropriately, wearing traditional clothing not only honors one's background but also contributes to the diversity and diplomatic spirit of the Model United Nations of Vienna.
